Town Hall will be Closed December 23-27, 2024
Posted on Dec. 16 2024Town Administration, with the support from Mayor and Council, has implemented closing Town Hall to the public from Monday, December 23 through Friday, December 27, 2024. Employees will be off for the week, with regular operational hours to resume on Monday, December 30, 2024.
Town Hall would normally be closed at 12:00pm on December 24 and closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, resulting in this closure having only two-and-a-half days unavailable to the public this week. “Christmas is typically a quiet week for Town Hall,” begins CAO Darryl Drohomerski. “This year, Christmas falls mid-week, and we anticipate it will be very quiet as we have noticed in past years when the holiday fell on similar weekdays, prompting the decision to close the facility. Many employees already book that time off to be with family and friends during the holiday season, resulting in a skeleton crew. This also allows the office building to have heat and power usage reduced for the week, saving utility costs.”
Other Town Facilities will remain open to the Public on December 23 and 27, with modified hours on December 24 as follows:
- The Badlands Community Facility will close at 1:00pm on December 24, 2024.
- Drumheller Aquaplex will close at 4:00 PM on December 24, 2024.
- Public Works will close to the Public at noon on December 24, 2024.
All municipal buildings will be closed on Christmas, Boxing, and New Year's Day.
Residents who need to pay their municipal invoice during that week are encouraged to plan ahead or utilize other payment options the municipality offers. Town Hall will reopen for payments and regular business on Monday, December 30, at 8:00 a.m.
