Temporary Road Closure - Community Business Association Downtown Halloween Event

Please be advised of a temporary road closure on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 1:00PM to 7:00PM. The affected areas are as follows: - Downtown 3rd Ave from 2 St W to 1 St E and Centre St. from Legion to Railway Ave. - Centre Street alley South of 3rd Ave between Trader's Furniture/Heller Good and Unleash Your Sparkle/Stores on Centre. - Centre Street alley North of 3rd Ave between Lois & Ani/Drumheller Legion and Napier Theatre/Old OT Plaza. This event is 4:00PM - 6:00PM.

Special Event License Application Form

A Special Event is defined as any activity or event occurring within the Town of Drumheller on public parks, roads and venues. Applications for a special event must be submitted to the Town of Drumheller no less than 15 business days prior to the proposed event date. If your event includes road closures your application needs to be submitted no less than 30 business days prior to the proposed event date, and you must submit a completed Road Closure Application

This is an application only; a license will NOT be issued until the review process is complete and approval is given by the Town of Drumheller.

Please note that facilities including the Badlands Community Facility, Drumheller Aquaplex, Memorial Arena or any of our ball diamonds must be booked separately via this form, or to bookings@drumheller.ca.

Example:

  • Event is January 1, 2022 from 11:00am to January 2, 2022 1:00am
  • Set up is on December 31, 2021 from 3:00pm - 9:00pm
  • Tear down is January 3 from 6:00am - 8:00am

 

 

Event Attributes

All event attributes are subject to the approval of the Town of Drumheller. Certain event attributes may require separate licenses. These include, but are not limited to; sales, food, food trucks and alcohol.

*Include and label all attributes on your site map.

Please note, a food handling permit from Alberta Health Services will be required.

Please note, tents and/or canopies that require staking must contact Alberta One Call at 1-800-242-3441 to arrange utility location. This is the responsibility of the applicant.

Please note, if food trucks are onsite of your event serving/selling food, a copy of their Town of Drumheller Business License and a copy of their approved AHS Food Handling Permit must be submitted to the Town of Drumheller.

Please note, if alcohol is served/sold at your event, you must obtain a liquor license from AGLC: Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis and provide a copy to the Town of Drumheller.

Any person or group planning an event should request a noise exemption if the allowed noise/sound levels are expected to be occurring outside the allowed time frame of 10:00pm

Include what time you request the extension to end, e.g. 12:00am

If your event is a Run, Walk, Parade or other activity in which participants will be following a course, then you must upload a map of the proposed route. Indicate direction of travel, barricade placement for any road closures, and provide a written narrative to explain your route. All proposed routes and use of any public roadways and green spaces are subject to the Town of Drumheller approval.

Valid certificate of insurance, showing a minimum liability amount of $2 million, and will include the Town of Drumheller as an additional insured.

Please note: Additional insurance requirements depend upon the risk level of your event. If your event includes alcohol, liquor liability coverage must be included.
