Film Permit Application

Film Permit Application

A Film Permit is only required for projects filmed on municipal property (streets, roads, parks, downtown areas, recreation facilities, etc.) or if it will significantly impact municipal property, including residential areas. Filming in/on private properties must be arranged with the property owner and will not require a Film Permit from the Town of Drumheller.

This is an application only; a permit will NOT be issued until the review process is complete and approval is given by the Town of Drumheller.

Application Process:

Applications and all documents and agreements must be received;

  • 14 business days before production if street/sidewalk closures, traffic stoppage or other by-law concerns are proposed.
  • 7 business days before production if none of the above are required.

Approval timelines vary depending on the nature and complexity of the production.

Insurance

Proof of current liability insurance is required, showing a minimum liability amount of $2 million that names the Town of Drumheller as an additional insured.

Please note: Additional insurance requirements depend upon the risk level of your event.
