Effective January 20, 2022 there will be a weight restriction of 10 tonnes on Newcastle Trail and 10 Street West due to a bridge-sized culvert deteriorating. No vehicles over 10 tonnes may cross the road way once signage is in place on January 20. Alternate route provided along Hwy 575.

A formal inspection of the bridge sized culvert located at Newcastle Trail and 10 Street West was conducted by a contracted engineering consultant in 2020, and a further site inspection was conducted in November 2021. In response to the inspection findings, the Town of Drumheller will implement a 10 tonne weight restriction on the affected section of roadway, as indicated on the attached map. This restriction has been reviewed and approved in partnership with the Town’s Protective Services, the RCMP and Traffic Enforcement.
