Council Announces a Special Meeting to Review the Town's 2024 Audited Financial Statements

Posted on Apr. 28 2025

Mayor Colberg has scheduled a Special Meeting of Council for Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 4:30 PM in the Town Hall Council Chambers (224 Centre Street). The purpose of the meeting is to review and approve the Town of Drumheller’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024. This meeting was publicly announced at the April 22, 2025, Regular Council Meeting

A Special Council Meeting refers to any Council session that is not on the regular meeting schedule. These meetings are typically called to address urgent or time-sensitive matters that cannot be postponed until the next scheduled meeting.

Special Council Meetings are held in accordance with Section 194 of the Municipal Government Act, which means that:

  • At least 24 hours written notice must be given to all councillors and the public; and
  • Only matters stated in the notice may be discussed at the Special Council Meeting.

Audited financial statements are an official financial report for the municipality that has been reviewed and approved by an independent accounting firm to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The Municipal Government Act requires that each municipality in Alberta prepare annual audited financial statements. Audited financial statements from previous years, dating back to 2017, can be found on the Town of Drumheller website.

The Town of Drumheller's audited financial statements dating back to 2017 are available for review on drumheller.ca. Once the 2024 statements are approved by Council, they will be published on this page.

The meeting is open to the public and can be viewed in person at Town Hall (224 Centre Street) or livestreamed on the Town YouTube channel. The agenda will be posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting and can be found on the Town of Drumheller website.
