FIRE BAN IN EFFECT - July 19, 2024

A fire ban has been issued for the Town of Drumheller due to the elevated fire danger as a period of high heat and low moisture continues.
The fire ban also applies all communities within the Drumheller Valley
This fire ban includes all open fires and prohibits the use of the following items and all other items not explicitly mentioned as permitted below:
- Wood or briquette campfires
- Recreational Fire Pits
- Wood, charcoal or briquette barbecues
- Outdoor wood-burning stoves (including cooking shelters)
- Turkey fryers
- Tiki torches
Consumer and Commercial Fireworks are forbidden.
Lighting or maintaining fires is strictly prohibited and includes all front and backcountry campgrounds and day-use areas.
Use of the following items are permitted during the fire ban provided they are under the direct supervision and certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or Underwriters Laboratories (UL):
- Portable propane fire pits
- Natural Gas or propane stoves and barbeques designed for cooking or heating
- Propane or gas-fueled lanterns (enclosed flame)
- Patio heaters (propane, catalytic, or infrared/radiant)
