Town of Drumheller Hosts Public Information Open House

Posted on Feb. 4 2025

The Town of Drumheller invites residents to attend a Public Information Open House on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Badlands Community Facility, Banquet Hall C, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This open house provides a unique opportunity for the public to interact with representatives from various town departments, ask questions, and offer feedback on important topics. Members of Council will also be at the event to connect with residents.

The event will be set up like a trade show, with each department hosting a table to showcase information and engage with attendees. There is no need to pre-register for this casual event—residents are encouraged to drop by at their convenience throughout the evening.

Key topics to be covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Capital & Operating Budgets
  • Development Permits and Safety Codes
  • Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)
  • Fire Bylaw
  • Flood Mitigation
  • Infrastructure:
    • Downtown Streetscaping
    • Snow and Ice Control Policy
    • Street Improvement Plan (Sidewalks and Roads)
  • Municipal Elections
  • Paid Parking
  • Property Taxes and Assessments
  • Recreation Master Plan

“We value the opportunity to engage with our community, and this open house is a great way for residents to learn more about town operations, share their thoughts, and have direct conversations with staff,” shares Darryl Drohomerski, Chief Administrative Officer. “It’s an excellent chance to stay informed and help shape the future of Drumheller.”

The Town aims to capture feedback from residents on specific initiatives that will be considered when developing future policies. Drohomerski continues, “A big part of what this event entails is to educate our residents about how the municipality operates and, most importantly, hear what residents want in their community.”

In addition to capturing feedback on items such as restructuring the Snow and Ice Control Policy, Administration has noted that a representative from Wild Rose Assessment, the Town’s contractor for property assessment services, will help inform residents about the assessment process and its relation to property taxes.
