Town of Drumheller Rescinds Fire Ban; Moves to Fire Restriction

Posted on Aug. 8 2024

The Town of Drumheller has rescinded the fire ban issued on July 19 and has now moved to a FIRE RESTRICTION.

As defined, all existing Fire Permits are revoked. Consumer and Commercial Fire Works are forbidden.

Recreational Fire Pits are permitted but must be in conformance with Town of Drumheller Fire By-Law 04 07. Fire Pits must be a minimum of 3 meters from any combustible, must have an ember screen of no greater than 1.30 centimetres. Only clean wood or charcoal may be burned. Refuse and yard waste is forbidden.

The public is asked to be very diligent when using recreational fire pits. At the end of any use, ensure the fire is extinguished. Soak the ash bed, stir and soak again. After this is complete, replace the ember screen.
