Temporary Road Closure - Community Business Association Downtown Halloween Event

Please be advised of a temporary road closure on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 1:00PM to 7:00PM. The affected areas are as follows: - Downtown 3rd Ave from 2 St W to 1 St E and Centre St. from Legion to Railway Ave. - Centre Street alley South of 3rd Ave between Trader's Furniture/Heller Good and Unleash Your Sparkle/Stores on Centre. - Centre Street alley North of 3rd Ave between Lois & Ani/Drumheller Legion and Napier Theatre/Old OT Plaza. This event is 4:00PM - 6:00PM.

2024 Volunteer Tax Program

The Town of Drumheller Senior Services is once again offering the Volunteer Tax Program. This program is available for seniors and individuals with modest income and simple tax situations for the 2024 season. 

The thresholds are as follows:

Family Size Total Family Income
1 person $35,000
2 people $45,000
3 people $47,500
4 people $50,000
5 people $52,500
More than 5 people $52,500 plus $2,500 for each additional individual

Tax forms, including a form that requires your signature, are available for pickup starting March 1, 2024, at the following locations

  • Drumheller Public Library Front Desk
  • Freson Bros Customer Service Counter
  • Riverside Value Drug Mart Front Counter
  • Town Hall Front Desk

Income tax returns can not be prepared for individuals who:

  • Have self-employment income
  • Have business or rental income and expenses
  • Have capital gains for losses
  • Have employment expenses
  • Filed for bankruptcy
  • Are deceased in the year

When completed, place the signed form, along with all your tax slips, back into the envelope, seal it and drop it off at the Drumheller Public Library Front Desk during regular hours, or in the 'Book Return Slot' after hours. The taxes will then be e-filed and a copy will be returned to you.
