The Town of Drumheller’s Utility crews are actively working to address a water main break on 2 Street SE. Crews are excavating the area to determine the exact location of the break and assess the extent of the necessary repairs.

To support the repair efforts, the water flow in the affected area has been decreased, which may result in lower water pressure in the Huntington Area. However, the Town is making every effort to maintain adequate water pressure across the system during repairs to minimize any inconvenience for users.

As the repair work progresses, residents in Hunts Crescent, Huntington Park, and Hunts Drive may experience discoloured water. This is due to changes in the water flow, which can stir up accumulated deposits within the water mains. While this discolouration is unpleasant, the water is safe. Residents are advised to run their taps briefly to clear their lines.

The repair work directly impacts the following addresses, and notices have been provided:

  • 1011 2 Street SE
  • 1013 2 Street SE
  • 1015 2 Street SE
  • 1017 2 Street SE
  • 1019 2 Street SE
  • 1020 2 Street SE
  • 1021 2 Street SE
  • 1022 2 Street SE
  • 1023 2 Street SE
  • 1024 2 Street SE

If a complete water shutoff becomes necessary, the Town will provide bottled water to the affected residents.

Once repairs are completed, the Town will ensure that the affected area is properly flushed before reintegrating into the broader water system.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as crews work diligently to resolve this issue. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.
